Happy Monday, folks! We hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for some more bridal inspiration! We’re kicking it off with this chic engagement session at the Parkland Gold & Country Club in Parkland, Florida. David & Cindy are definitely dressed to impress in their engagement photos. This cute couple met at a concert, Cindy reluctantly danced with him and as she puts it, “it was as if everything just paused and it was just me and him.” Take a look below and be inspired!
How did you meet/From Cindy’s Point of View:
We meet in September of 2010 at a concert. I was celebrating my 26th birthday with a few girlfriends. It was a great night we drank, sang along to the songs, and danced like there was no tomorrow. Towards the end of the night a guy asked me to dance, and me with my nasty attitude was like “NOPE, NO THANK YOU”. One of my friends whispered to me, “Stop being mean and just dance with him.” So I figured why not, and just danced with the guy. The funny thing about that dance is I remembered everything about it except the song. You would think I’d remembered the song but it was as if everything just paused and it was just me and him. I remember how he held me in his arms, how his every move matched mines and how safe I felt in this stranger’s arms. That stanger happened to be David, and we’ve been dancing ever since. My dancing partner for life.”
The Proposal/From David’s Point of View:
I’m not sure how to explain the exact moment of when I realized that I wanted to pop the question, it was more of a feeling. I just knew… I knew that I wanted Cindy to be my wife, my forever. Once that feeling came over me I decided to speak to both her parents to ask them for their blessing. December of 2015 I planned a Christmas trip to Haiti for Cindy and I. I was born in Haiti and Cindy had visited earlier in the year for a funeral. She mentioned to me how much she loved it there and I really wanted to show her the beauty of my birth place under better circumstances. While on the island we stayed at three of Haiti’s finest hotels. One of the hotels we visited was Moulin Sur Mer, which is located along the beach and very romantic. During the day we relaxed in hammocks and at night we slept to the sounds of the ocean. Everything about our stay there was perfect. I wanted to propose then but was waiting until Christmas night which meant a whole two days of hiding the ring from Cindy. Which is very hard because she’s VERY nosy.Christmas Day… We were now at the Marriott Hotel in the heart of Port au Prince. That morning Cindy surprised me with a couple’s massage which was a nice way to start off the day. We said that we weren’t exchanging gifts that year but she always has to try and out do me some how, so I let her think she won for now. Later that night I had planned to take her to dinner overlooking the mountains of the country. The views are breathtaking and this is where I planned on popping the question but unfortunately the restaurant was closed that night. We were both unhappy that the restaurant was closed but Cindy was very upset about. So, I decided to just let her talk and talk and talk about how upset she was because we weren’t able to go there on Christmas night. So while she continued to vent, I began thinking of a plan B.I convinced angry Cindy to come down to the lobby which was filled with Christmas decorations and a huge Christmas tree. We sat at the lobby bar and ordered drinks then before the drinks came out I told her my stomach was upset and I needed to go back to the room to use the restroom. She wanted to come upstairs to the room with me, but I insisted she stayed put (NOSY). The truth was I really needed to go upstairs to get the ring. While in the room I contacted a buddy of mine to set up a firework show that we would be able to see from the hotel pool area. So I had to make sure the timing was right. After having our drinks I asked Cindy to take my picture in front of the big tree in the lobby. A young lady walked by and asked if she could take a picture of us and we both answered yes. After the 2nd snap Cindy’s back was turned and I reached into my back pocket and got down on one knee. Cindy turned around in shock, she speechless tears just flowed from her eyes. After a few seconds of waiting for her to come to she finally said yes. The entire lobby was filled with flashing camera, sounds of clapping and people shouting congratulations. She was happy, I was happy and we ending the night with a bottle of champagne and a firework show which she loved.”
