Today I will share with you a sweet proposal story submitted by one of you, loyal readers. Nicole and Edward had discussed marriage and she knew it was coming but she didn’t know when. The moral of this proposal is: sometimes it happens when you least expect it.
In Her Words:
I have a very unique proposal story. My sweetie and I have been dating for 3 years and we plan to get married on our 4 year anniversary (I know it’s mushy) but the way he asked me to marry him was so sweet and unexpected. Mind you, he asked my for my Dad’s permission first and then had my Dad help him pick out the ring when my Dad agreed to him asking me. So Valentine’s Day was coming up and I was expecting it to be special and I kind of thought he was going to ask me to marry him because we had recently been discussing it. Well Valentine’s Day rolled around and rolled away. I got a nice gift but not the ring I was expecting.
So the day after Valentine’s day I got up and went to work as usual. When I got off I got a call from my Dad he said he had something for and I needed to come get it. when I got to his house there was a nice ensemble and he said we were taking my step mom out to eat I needed to get dress and go pick up Edward from home but first I needed to go to my sister’s house. So when I got to my sister house she was getting dressed for this fake dinner as well so we chit chatted as usual and then we started out on our way. We arrived at the restaurant he had rented out the whole restaurant but I was thinking it was for my step mom. So when I got inside all the waiters were standing in line with a card and each card had its own word on it the first card said Nicole the 2nd said Will the 3rd said You the 4th said Marry and there he stood in his black slacks and coral colored shirt holding a ring. I cried and cried and yelled at them for fooling me. He said he didn’t do it on valentine’s day because he knew I was expecting it and he wanted to surprise me. Our wedding is 3/15/2014 at Lake Mirror Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida.
Congrats to Nicole & Edward, I look forward to featuring your wedding! 😉
