Happy Monday Lovelies! So excited to share today’s feature! While normally we feature real weddings on Wednesdays I was too smitten with this intimate wedding I couldn’t wait. So that means we’ll have 2 weddings this week! Let’s thank Michelle Davina Photography for sending over such a unique wedding with some of the best wedding professionals in Atlanta.
From the Bride:
“How this wonderful day came to be….It was a warm July summer night I can remember it as if it was yesterday. I was hanging out for a night on the town when I noticed this handsome man standing across the room. I thought to myself, “I can’t leave here without making my presence known!”, so I did just that. I took one deep breath and built up the courage to approach him. It seemed like everyone else in the room disappeared. And in that moment, Kareem had me at “hello”. The conversation was brief but felt like it lasted forever. It’s every girl’s dream to get married but I was unsure at some points in my life. Kareem had asked me on several occasions but something in my heart didn’t think the timing was right. We’d often talk about it and would debate over if our engagement would be traditional or nontraditional and could never agree. On another warm July summer night, 7 years after we first introduced our hellos, he surprised me with that question again, “Will you marry me?”. It was the perfect moment and I knew it was right. As a woman I love what “the ring” represents but it’s just a material aspect of an engagement, so we decided to honor the next step in our lives with a tradition of our own. We got matching tattoos on our ring fingers to symbolize our commitment and our bond feels closer. We got married on January 15, 2015 in an intimate wedding ceremony with our closest family and friends as witnesses. This day means the world to us in more ways than one because it is our anniversary and now will be the day that we celebrate our union as one for the rest of our lives.”
From the Groom:
“I became attracted to Dina because she carried herself in a way that was different from what I was used to. And her smile was everything! We started dating six months after we met. She was the only woman that made me say to myself, “This is who I want to build a life and family with, the one that would steal my heart!”, and that’s what she did that day. January 15th, seven years ago is one of the best days of my life because that’s the day I knew my soul mate would be my wife. I knew she was the one because she was there every step of the way. During the rough and tough times, she’d console me and let me know that everything would be okay. Instead of criticizing me or walking away, she offered me her hand and her love. And I will love her until death do us part.”
